When two hearts beat as one... great music can tell the story better than words. We hope you'll enjoy our tribute to Valentine's Day, as we present some of the world's most memorable love stories on this Sunday afternoon!

Imagine you're in the New York of Bernstein's "West Side Story" and discover love there, as these young people did. Recognize Shakespeare's familiar, tragic story, previewed in Tchaikovsky's "Romeo and Juliet" Overture, then settle back to enjoy Howard Hanson's "Romantic" Symphony number 2.

Experience the radiant brilliance of the flute in two enchanting compositions as the New Philharmonic heralds the arrival of spring with Carl Reinecke's Flute Concerto in D major and Antonin Dvorak's uplifting Symphony No. 8, infused with cheerful folk melodies.

Featured prominently as our soloist, the remarkable Dr. Hannah Leffler Chiasson, a distinguished faculty member at UTA and a seasoned performer, will grace the stage with her "dazzling" flute.

Join us for a splendid celebration of the season and Easter afternoon at Sundays at the Symphony! (Psst... Guests of all ages will delight in discovering chocolate Easter eggs awaiting them!)

Join us and selected Irving student musicians for a Sunday afternoon of enchantment and let the music weave its spell around you, transporting you to realms both magical and timeless.

The evening is woven into a tapestry of wonder and delight beginning with Mussorgsky's Night on Bald Mountain casting its spell, summoning eerie shadows and mysterious spirits with its haunting melodies. Rossini's La Cenerentol sweeps you away on a fairytale journey, where dreams come true and love conquers all in a whirlwind of sparkling melodies. Weber's Freischutz Overture beckons with its bewitching charm, inviting you to venture into the enchanted forest where secrets lurk behind every tree. And finally, Bizet's L'Arlesienne Suite No. 2 enchants with its vibrant colors and passionate rhythms, painting a vivid portrait of love, longing and destiny.

Included in the performance is our 2024 concerto competition winner, Cesia Quinonez (Nimitz H.S.), playing Massenet's Meditation from Thais transporting you to a realm of serene beauty, where time seems to stand still amid the delicate strains of her violin.
