Towering composers!

Irving Arts Center - Carpenter Hall 3333 N MacArthur Blvd, Irving

Join the New Philharmonic as we honor Bach, Brahms and a young artist!

A few composers stand out among others, and we'll climax our 35th season with some of their inspiring music. We'll hear a young musician - Rebecca Martinez, violinist, winner of our annual concerto competition - perform Bach's celebrated Concerto in A minor for violin, strings and basso continuo. A graduating senior, concertmaster of her Nimitz High School orchestra, she also performs mariachi.

Then, we'll find ourselves in Austria for the afternoon as the orchestra presents Brahms' Symphony no. 2, inspired by his visit to a village there, and Austrian composer von Suppe's sparkling "The Queen of Spades" overture.

Tickets. $20 adults, $15 seniors, $10 students at 972-252-2787
