It's spring, and time for some music full of colors! Join us for Beethoven's dramatic Coriolan Overture... Berlioz’ exciting Hungarian March from The Damnation of Faust… Saint-Saens' spirited Bacchanal from Samson et Dalila ... and Bizet's thrilling Carmen Suite no. 1, as selected Irving high school musicians perform with us.
But the music that will really dazzle is the lovely Violin Concerto no. 1 by Bela Bartok, the Hungarian composer, as performed by our Romanian-born concertmaster, Dr. Adrian Demian, soloist. The concerto reveals Bartok’s love for the violin and the young woman violinist to whom it’s dedicated.
