Join us and selected Irving student musicians for a Sunday afternoon of enchantment and let the music weave its spell around you, transporting you to realms both magical and timeless.
The evening is woven into a tapestry of wonder and delight beginning with Mussorgsky's Night on Bald Mountain casting its spell, summoning eerie shadows and mysterious spirits with its haunting melodies. Rossini's La Cenerentol sweeps you away on a fairytale journey, where dreams come true and love conquers all in a whirlwind of sparkling melodies. Weber's Freischutz Overture beckons with its bewitching charm, inviting you to venture into the enchanted forest where secrets lurk behind every tree. And finally, Bizet's L'Arlesienne Suite No. 2 enchants with its vibrant colors and passionate rhythms, painting a vivid portrait of love, longing and destiny.
Included in the performance is our 2024 concerto competition winner, Cesia Quinonez (Nimitz H.S.), playing Massenet's Meditation from Thais transporting you to a realm of serene beauty, where time seems to stand still amid the delicate strains of her violin.
