Andrew Weliver is a local musician, educator, composer, and conductor. He holds a bachelor’s degree in music from Texas Wesleyan University as a classical and jazz saxophonist. As an undergraduate, Andrew began pursuing a high interest in choral music and vocal performance, which led him to become the intern conductor of the Texas Wesleyan Chorale under Dr. Jerry Bierschenk. During this time, he also was an active private lesson instructor and clinician in the Fort Worth area.
Mr. Weliver is currently pursuing a graduate music education degree at UTA, mentored by Dr. John Wayman, University Singers director and head of choral music education. During this time, Weliver hopes to gain valuable opportunities to sing, conduct, and compose for this very ensemble, and create new choral and instrumental music.
During all of this time, Andrew has been a vocalist in ensembles such as Voices of Fort Worth, Fort Worth Chorale, Texas Wesleyan Chorale, and the UTA A Capella Choir. The artistic director and conductor of the Ambigua Voce Chorale Ensemble in Arlington, Weliver is also Director of Choral Activities and Assistant Director of Bands in Boyd ISD.
